I admit it, I’ve become that person that only writes during November. National Novel Writing Month used to be a challenge that helped me concentrate on one piece of writing because I always had so many work in progress pieces. Now that I’ve settled down and, more importantly, stopped writing fan fiction, I’ve sort of lost the energy that used to fuel my creative process. I don’t actually think I’ve written one sentence of fiction since last November when I brain farted out the last 3,000 or so words of my last novel.
I’d really like to write something good this year that I can see myself finishing. The last three years have been a giant thumbs down and, quite honestly, the last piece I wrote that I had any faith in was actually Times Like This and that is still unfinished as well. I have tried to buckle down and complete the last few needed chapters in the past, but never actually succeeded.
In order to light a fire under my ass, I’m going to possibly outline the sequel to Times Like This. The sequel is something that I’ve considered ever since I fell in love with the Nick and Lily dynamic. Maybe this sequel will help me realize the holes in Times Like This that need filling. Aaaaand maybe it will really get me to start writing on a regular basis again.
